(WENN) - The Wanted singer Nathan Sykes has reached out to the sister of a teacher who was killed in the Connecticut school massacre on December 14th.
The British pop star took to his Twitter page on December 23rd to wish a happy birthday to Carlee Soto, a fan of his band who lost her older sibling Victoria when suspected gunman Adam Lanza opened fire at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown.
Sending all my love to @icarlee23 for your birthday! You, Vicki and your family are such an inspiration. Hope you have a lovely day :) xx

Carlee told Sykes his message was the ultimate gift but he went one step further to make her day special by inviting her to meet The Wanted in New York City, adding:
@icarlee23 Next time we are in NYC I have arranged for you to come and hang out with us if you are up for that? Would be lovely to see ya xx

Victoria, 27, was hailed a heroine after it emerged she died while attempting to shield her young students during the shootings.
Folk legend Paul Simon paid his respects to Victoria by playing her favorite song "The Sound of Silence" at her funeral on December 19.
