The Bay Bridge will be closed this week in order to get the NEW bridge ready for operation!

The Bay Bridge will be fully closed from 8pm Wednesday, August 28th to 5am Tuesday, September 3rd.
CHP will begin putting the detour in place Wednesday night, an hour before the shut-down with staggered ramp closures beginning in the 7 o'clock hour.
The NEW Eastern span will take the place of the old bridge. Expect confusion-related delays on Tuesday morning, as all approaches to the bridge will be different!
Double your planned drive-time during the closure and take alternate routes, including:
-The San Mateo Bridge
-The Richmond-San Rafael and Golden Gate Bridge
-The Ferry (offering expanding service)
14 BART stations will offer 24 hour service during the closure, with trains once per hour. The stations include:
-El Cerrito del Norte
-12th Street/Oakland City Center
-24th Street Mission
-San Francisco Airport
